Description


Emerald Expositions, a leader in the b2b tradeshow industry, is seeking a motivated sales professional to join our ASD Market Week team. We are searching for an ambitious hunter, with the ability to prospect and close new business. In this role, you will be instrumental to the future growth of our show through networking, selling in new business, and building relationships to meet & exceed quarterly sales goals. You will drive an increase in year-on-year volume by establishing, developing and maintaining strong and meaningful relationships with key account personnel for new accounts. In addition, you will be responsible for continuously selling newly closed accounts to return for future shows.

As Business Development Executive, your key responsibilities will also include:
  • Increase show (s) exhibit and sponsorship sales to exceed annual budget expectations, with a strong focus on prospecting new business
  • Uncover new exhibitor markets to generate new sales, grow and maintain prospecting data base
  • Build key exhibitor relationships, develop new prospects
  • Increase retention level rate of exhibitors through strong relationship building; where possible upsell to larger booths/premium locations and/or cross-sell complementary products such as sponsorship and list rental
  • Identify accounts that are at risk or high potential and continually analyze needs of each type of accounts and propose programs that meet those needs
  • Execute results reporting, tracking of projects and list development as well as data integrity
  • Assist accounting with collections as needed
As a qualified candidate, you will have:
  • Minimum of 4 years proven successful hunting sales experience
  • 4 year college degree preferred
  • Experience in and comfort with a high outbound phone sales environment
  • Experience in retail, merchandising, or tradeshow a plus, but not required
  • Must be fluent in written and spoken English; ability to conduct business in a second language a plus but not required.
  • Strong client service, with both telephone and in-person sales prospecting skills
  • Ability to multi task in a deadline driven, goal oriented environment
  • Highly organized; excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and CRM tools such as Salesforce
  • Ability to travel approximately 25% of the year for up to a week at a time
